Come join us at Strut for a fun evening of literary, comedy, and musical talent at our in person QUEER open mic event!Whether you're a musician, poet, comedian, or have an interpretive dance to share, this is the platform to express yourself! Bring your friends, show off your skills, and let's celebrate our queer fabulousness together!
If you are queer, this open mic is for you! We love all queers of the rainbow spectrum, Trans folks, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Pansexuals, Gays! Come on by!
Hosted by two local queer SPECTACULAR darling writer/comedians CYNTHIA IN PUBLIC, and MATTHEW BELD!
Sign up list goes on at 7PM, show starts at around 7:15pm. If the list gets full and you are patient, we will try to squeeze you in, we always try to get everyone up on the list, usually if you are patient everyone gets up on the mic, we just can't guarantee it.
Signing up gets you 5 minutes, and that's it! That means 5 minutes of comedy, or 5 minutes to read one literary piece, or you can do one song, but just 5 minutes.
We also usually have wine and snacks! Don't drink? NO PROBLEM, we love sober folks and we love folks that don't drink alcohol we have plenty of non alcoholic options at our events.
Accessibility: There are no stairs to enter the lobby level at Strut from the street level. The building has three floors, and there is a stairwell with handrails and a wheelchair-accessible elevator. There are 26 steps from the lobby to the 2nd floor and 48 steps from the lobby to the 3rd floor. All our bathrooms are gender neutral and we have restrooms that are accessible to people who use wheelchairs.
