How Can We Unite Against Hate in Divided Times? Join us for a compelling evening on how to maintain unity while having hard conversations in our increasingly polarized world.
About this Event

In today’s deeply polarized world, maintaining unity can feel more challenging than ever, especially when confronting difficult topics or participating in protests. Tonight's special event will start by featuring excerpts from these Not In Our Town Films about community response to hate -

Waking in Oak Creek - After the hate crime killing of six people at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, a community is awakened through connection, resilience and hope.

A Prosecutor’s Stand - San Francisco Prosecutor Victor Hwang takes a hate crime case to trial after the brutal attack on two Mayan immigrants.

Repairing the World: Stories From the Tree of Life - A story about Pittsburgh’s community wide response to a deadly antisemitic attack at a synagogue.

After the short films, we will transition into a talk on Having Hard Conversations.

This talk will explore practical strategies for having hard conversations without resorting to personal attacks, and for engaging in conversations that build bridges rather than deepens divides. Through real-world examples, the panel will discuss how to communicate across differences, and create spaces where passionate debate leads to understanding and positive change. Whether you’re an activist, community leader, or simply someone seeking more respectful dialogue, this discussion offers tools for turning conflict into connection.

Moderated by Manny, panelists to include-

, Sex and Intimacy Coach

Eddie Samaniego, Labor Leader

Introduction by San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
