About this Event
We've got the perfect motivation for you this winter to get out of your home and to cozy up with us. For the next three months we'll be screening queer films on the third Monday of the month, hosted by Shelli Nicole!
Our debut on February 16th will be a screening of the film BESSIE. Bessie is a 2015 HBO TV film about the American blues singer Bessie Smith, and focuses on her transformation as a struggling young singer into "The Empress of the Blues". Don't miss this prominent queer film that celebrates bisexuality and the vibrant LGBTQ+ scene in the Harlem Renaissance.
Doors open at 6pm and our film screening begins at 7pm. We will hold a short intermission halfway through the film. Dorothy remains open until 11pm. Captions included in the screening.
RSVP and entry are free. Please note: RSVPs are not required for entry nor do they guarentee entry and seating. RSVPs serve as calendar reminders and guest attendance expectations for our staffing.
Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical or mobile ID to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Ave. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please wait by the black door with our logo in the window and call our staff to assist: 773-770-3799
