Queer and trans drawing class
Come and join us in an expressive drawing class! It’s about finding ways to be in our body and let it speak through drawing. It’s about representing ourselves. It’s about seeing ourselves, and being ourselves.
We will make process based charcoal, pastel and watercolour drawings, get to know our materials and learn a bunch of expressive techniques in the first three weeks, and then draw a model in the next three weeks.
You don’t need any experience of drawing to come along, and all materials will be provided.
Dates – 6 weekly classes - Tuesday 10th March 2026 from 6 – 8pm.

I'm delighted that THERE ARE 6 FREE PLACES DUE TO GENEROUS FUNDING FROM Hutt City Council. If you are a person who would like to do this but don't have $$$ for it, or you know someone who would enjoy coming along, please contact me. These places are for Hutt residents only.
There is parking on the street – free after 5pm. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and we will be drawing on tables with chairs for seating. There are also sofas. There is a kitchen available for our use. Please ask me questions about your accessibility needs to participate.
Additional info – This class is special as I am running a mentoring programme as part of it. There will be 3 teina – young people / rangatahi joining us, learning from me how to teach creative practice. My goal is to pass on what I know about holding space, and encourage others to teach queer and trans creative workshops.
