Join our Beginner DJ Course — “Foundations of the Decks”, designed for complete beginners and bedroom DJs who want to master the basics and feel truly confident behind the decks.
Over 4 weeks (8 sessions total) — every Monday & Tuesday night (1.5 hours each) — you’ll get hands-on training, practice, and personalized guidance to help you build your DJ foundation.
You’ll learn how to:
🎚️ Beatmatch and mix tracks together
💻 Use Rekordbox DJ software
🎵 Find the right music for your sets
🧠 Create effective playlists
💿 Get confident on CDJs or a XDJ-AZ
🎶 Mix harmonically (in key)
⚡ Build real DJ skills, techniques, and flow
🎥 Plus — you’ll finish the course by DJing a filmed set at HiViz!

Kimba Jade has been igniting dancefloors for over 20 years with her deep, funky, and globally inspired grooves. A master of musical journeying, she blends bass-driven beats with tech house, techno & indie dance (to name a few), and soulful sounds that move body and spirit.
A passionate DJ mentor for the past decade, Kimba has taught over 100 students to DJ and run their own events, sharing her wealth of experience from festivals worldwide and her own dance events and festival. Now based in Wellington, she continues to bring her vibrant mix of rhythm, soul, and bass to clubs, bars, and Ecstatic Dance floors alike.
