About this Event
Mommy Meet Ups: Reclaim, Release, & Re-power
Mommy Meet Ups are a bi-weekly gathering created with one thing in mind: you.
As needs grow in our community, we’re choosing care and consistency—bringing pregnant and postpartum Black mamas together for connection, a nourishing meal, trusted childcare, and intentional space to breathe. No pressure. No preparation. Just community, support, and room to show up as you are.
Each month features one facilitator and one guiding theme. Sessions include open conversation followed by a gentle, facilitated activity aligned with the monthly theme.
May Facilitator & Theme
May Facilitator: Dez Stoughten
Theme: Sacred Womb Wisdom: Reconnecting through Raqs Sharqi
This month, we explore "belly dancing," an ancient practice rooted in the ritual dances of Southern Egypt and Sudan. We are centering our voices and joy to release stored stress and reconnect with ancestral ways of regulating the nervous system.
Our facilitator, Dez Stoughten, is a Cincinnati native and mother of two who is deeply committed to healing and self-expression. Through movement, Dez helps women find a powerful pathway back to their bodies and confidence, affirming us as creators of culture and wisdom.
