Queen of the Witches: A Yule Ritual

Step into the shadows and embrace the sacred mystery within. On this longest night of the year, we gather in devotion to the Dark Goddess; to the Queen of the Witches — She who holds the keys to transformation, rebirth and the eternal cycles of creation.

As the Wheel turns to Yule, we honour the deep stillness before awakening — the sacred moment when darkness gives birth to light and the spark of life is rekindled within the womb of the earth. This is the time of descent and renewal; when we shed what has withered and open ourselves to what longs to be born.

Throughout this ritual, we will weave three sacred threads of working:

• The liberation of creation and sexual energy through ecstatic dance. Awakening the body as a vessel of divine pleasure, expression and power.

• Pussy magic and blood magic, honouring the life-giving currents that flow through the womb, the heart and the land — the red thread that connects all creation.

• Return to Nature through the Wheel of the Year. Aligning ourselves with the pulse of the seasons and the wisdom of cyclical transformation.

Through invocation, movement, and sacred rite we will honour the darkness as fertile ground for renewal — a space of wisdom, surrender and empowerment. This is a night of remembrance and reclamation, a celebration of the Queen of the Witches, the Dark Goddess and the primal creative force that lives and breathes within us all.

We will be supported by Mama Cacao, holding her in ceremony as a heart-opening plant spirit to help us drop deeper into connection—with ourselves, our bodies, and our wildness. Her presence will guide us in softening our defences and awakening our sensual and intuitive nature.

The Threads

Pussy magick

Often known as a yoni steaming is an ancient practice used by women for centuries as a form of womb and pelvic care. It involves sitting or kneeling over a bowl of warm, steaming water infused with medicinal herbs that lovingly nourish, cleanse, and reconnect you to your womb space.

During a yoni steam, the steam rises and gently suffuses the vulva and vaginal opening, carrying with it the healing properties of herbs such as mugwort, rose, lavender, calendula, or basil. These herbs are often selected for their abilities to soothe, purify, and energetically support the womb.

But a yoni steam is far more than a physical cleanse.

A ritual space to return to yourself—to sit with the truth of who you are, honour your body’s wisdom, and let go of what no longer aligns, so you can rise rooted, radiant, and whole.

It is a deep act of reverence for the pussy—this wise, intuitive, and creative centre of your being. Through this ritual, we create space to gently clear energetic blocks and reconnect to the wellspring of our pleasure, power, and purpose.

With Yule reminding us of the birth-death-rebirth cycle the magic of witnessing the power of your pussy through pussy gazing is like no other! This time, we will have OPTION of pairing up and having another divine being revering this powerful portal. This may be edgy so we will safely meet those edges and explore the incredible power of seeing and being seen in this stunningly vulnerable way.

Solo gazing with a hand held mirror is absolutely welcome.

Shamanic drumming will also be used to assist our journey into the feminine realm.

Blood Magick

Blood magick is an ancient and powerful magick to be respected and revered. Just like all things it can be used to good and bad, it all depends on your intention. As with all Divine Darkness teachings/experiences, this magick will be held in the highest respect and ONLY for good intentions for the highest, best good of the user.

In this context, 'magick' is another way of saying 'manifestation' or tool to manifest.

Using our menstrual blood* we will set powerful intentions of anything we want to release, heal or manifest. These intentions will then be burned and alchemized through a fire ceremony.

*To prepare, collect your menstrual blood in a container and put it in the freezer. If you are not bleeding/no longer bleeding or aren't yet comfortable with the idea of painting with your blood a plant based or paint alternative will be provided.

The Ecstatic Dance of the Queen of the Witches

In the heart of the ritual, we will enter The Ecstatic Dance of the Queen of the Witches.

Through the beat of the drum and the pulse of the earth, we surrender to the ecstatic current that flows through all creation. Each step, each gesture, each breath becomes an offering — a celebration of our sovereignty and our connection to the unseen. Here, in the glow of candlelight and shadow, we remember our magic, our power and our freedom to dance between worlds.

What to Expect

3:00 PM — Doors open

3:15 PM — Doors close (please be on time)

3:20 PM — Opening circle, cacao ceremony and honouring of Yule

3:50 PM — Group Pussy Steam (steaming done individually in a shared space)

5:15 PM — Ecstatic Dance of the Witch

6.20 PM — Closing circle

What to Bring

Water bottle to stay hydrated (warming tea will be provided)

A bowl for the steam (large enough to kneel over; herbs provided)

A hand-held mirror

Journal and pen

Herbs will be provided however feel free to bring your own if you have specific preferences

An item for the alter (optional)

Your own previously collected menstrual blood (alternative will be provided for anyone not wishing to do this)

What to Wear

Wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable, powerful, and sacred.

You’re welcome to arrive in your softest clothing or fully adorned in your inner Witch/Dark Goddess / Godx/ Priestess /Monarch/Queen regalia. Anything that supports your sense of beauty and sovereignty is welcome and highly encouraged (think crowns, tiaras, bold necklaces/jewellery, flowing gowns, corsets).

You can change at the venue. It is a no shoe venue.

Please wear something that allows for ease during the steam.

Blankets will be provided for additional warmth or coverage and warm, snuggly socks can be useful (even with tiara's and flowing gowns!)

Considerations

Yoni steaming during your bleed is not recommended in some traditions while some people find their bleed time to be the perfect time to steam. If you’ll be menstruating, please tune into your body and decide what feels right for you. Alternatives may be available upon request.

Certain herbs (like mugwart) are not recommended if you're pregnant
