About this Event
Thinking about applying for the 7th Annual Queer Narratives Festival?
Join No Divide KC at Smalter Gallery on 39th Street for an informal, face-to-face info session. Whether you’re a visual artist, a musician, a drag performer, or a poet, we want to help you get your application ready for QNF 2026.
This year, QNF is taking over two of KC’s most iconic spaces: The Ship (for our festival night) and Smalter Gallery (for a 5-week exhibition). We’ll be there to walk you through the application process, answer your questions, and chat about what our peer-led selection panel is looking for this year.
What we’ll cover:
- Visual Arts: Details on the 5-week exhibition at Smalter (July 17 – Aug 21), honorariums, and the 0% commission policy for No Divide KC.
- Performance: Everything you need to know about performing at The Ship on August 8—sets, sound, and stipends ($300 for individuals / $500 for bands).
- Peer-Led Selection: Learn about our "Artists choosing Artists" philosophy and this year's panel (including Stephonne, Lava Dreams, and more).
- Application Tips: How to make your submission stand out before the April 19th deadline.
Cost: Free to attend. Vibe: Low pressure, high community. Come as you are, bring your questions, and let’s talk about your work.
