About this Event
With a single cup of tea, step into the Qing Dynasty — from the elegance of Emperor Qianlong’s golden age to the uncertainty and transformation of Emperor Guangxu’s late Qing Dynasty world.
In this immersive workshop, tea becomes our time machine. Through history, art, guided tasting, hands-on brewing, and a rare live qipao dance with live pipa performance, we will explore how tea carried art, daily life, and cultural memory in China’s last imperial dynasty.
Guided by tea and culture enthusiast Xinyi, you’ll taste two teas that whisper stories from two different time periods of Qing Dynasty: the floral elegance of Jasmine Green Tea and the warmth and depth of Tan Yang Gong Fu Black Tea. We will also compare two types of Jasmine Green Tea together with our neighbors.
✨ What to expect:
• Stories of Chinese tea culture, art, and life in the Qing Dynasty
• Tea ceremony and guided tasting of Jasmine Green Tea and Tan Yang Gong Fu Black Tea. Practice loose-leaf brewing using traditional Chinese tea sets in a small group setting.
• A rare live qipao dance by Xinyi, accompanied by live pipa music by Kelly
• Each guest will receive a tea sample and a themed button pin to take home.
Share tea, spark conversation, and travel through history, one cup at a time.
