About this Event
Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese mindful movement practice where we work with our life-force energy to help feel less stressed, more energised, and in greater harmony with ourselves, others and with the rest of nature.
Qi Gong is based on Taoist philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, and in this class we will focus on practices relating to the Five Elements and Three Treasures.
The class has 3 main elements: warm-up exercises, flows, and a short meditation to end.
There are mats, blankets and cushions available in the Studio room, however you may wish to bring your own. We will practice on mats in bare feet or if you prefer you can use plimsoles or similar flexible footwear that provides some grip.
If you have a physical or mental health medical condition that might affect your, or other people’s safety or enjoyment, you should take appropriate medical advice and inform me of your condition.
If you are no longer able to attend please cancel your ticket so that others can attend instead.
Accessibility: the Studio is located upstairs and accessed by a single flight of stairs - unfortunately there is no lift.
About the teacher: Nadine Andrews has been practising Qi Gong and other Taoist physical arts for almost 20 years, and has taught mindfulness meditation since completing teacher training in 2013 with Bangor University Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice in 2013. She is currently enrolled in the Holden QiGong Teacher Certification Program, which requires at least 30 hours of teaching practice - these classes are taught as part of this requirement.
