Sophie Wellington is an old time fiddler, flatpick guitarist, percussive dancer and jazz vocalist based in Boston, MA. Sophie grew up in Staunton, VA and was raised in its vibrant music community by musician and dance caller Bill Wellington and classical pianist Lynne Mackey. Sophie graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2022 with a degree in jazz voice and American roots music, and has since taught fiddle, flatfooting, guitar, and music theory at numerous festivals and camps. Sophie also toured extensively with musician and modern day bard Willi Carlisle. Sophie has a new project coming out July 10th, an album of guitar-forward arrangements of fiddle tunes and songs.
