Pysanky and Pours

Come out to Steel Town Cider on March 22 for a fun, beginner-friendly workshop where you'll dive into the beautiful tradition of pysanky — Ukrainian egg writing! After a quick demonstration and a few historical insights into the basics of wax-resist dyeing, you will use a candle, beeswax, kistka (pencil-like tool) and dyes to make your own unique masterpiece - just in time for Easter! Bring your creativity and enjoy some good vibes as you create these stunning, symbolic eggs.

Your ticket includes:

-All tools and materials needed to create one pysanka

-Live demonstration and step-by-step personalized instruction

Please note: Food is not avilable at the venue, but you are welcome to bring your own.

While I am not a professional artist, I have been praticing this craft for 25 years, and have recently begun pursuing it more seriously. Having hosted workshops before, I deeply value the opportunity to share the beauty, symbolism and resilience woven into Ukrainian culture through this art form.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to support the war effort in Ukraine.
