About this Event
LARP SUMMARY
This game is based on the history of Nicaraguan Sign Language. Nicaragua in the 1970s had no official form of sign language. In 1977, something happened.
Fifty deaf children from across the country were brought together to a school in Managua. Without a shared language to express themselves, the children did something remarkable—they created one.
In Sign, we follow a story inspired by that journey.
Sign is a live-action roleplay (LARP) for 8-12 players about being understood. No prior experience or preparation is required.
Note: This game is played in silence!
EVENING OVERVIEW
The event will begin at 7 pm withan overview of LARP etiquette, focusing on comfort and consent during play. Following this orientation, we'll all get into character, and the communication will begin!
We welcome you to arrive at 6:30 to settle in and order food and drink before the orientation begins (though our kitchen and bar will also be open throughout the evening).
