About this Event
Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk is a film in response of Sepideh Farsi as a filmmaker, to the ongoing massacre of he Palestinians. The personal way not to lose his sanity. A miracle happened when she met Fatem through a Palestinian friend. Ever since, she became his eyes in Gaza, while surviving under the bombs and documenting the war. And Sepideh Farsi became her connection to the outside world, from her Gaza Pr*son, as Fatima Hassouna puts it. They kept this line of life going for more than 200 days. The bits of pixels and sounds that They exchanged constitute the film that we see. Fatem's assasination on April 16, 2025, following an Israeli attack on her home has forever changed its meaning.
This will be the last Friendly Strangers screening until later in 2026. Over the last 2 years, this film series has been able to donate over $30,000 worth of food/medical aid and shelter to families in Palestine. That is all because of the beautiful community of friendly strangers that we've built together. Thank you for continuing to help me build this community and film series. I am forever grateful to be on this journey with you all.
