About this Event
Can you dedicate your life to doing good… and still build a life that works for you?
For many of us—especially those in nonprofits, caregiving roles, or mission-driven work—there’s an unspoken tension around money, service, and sacrifice. A quiet belief that if you truly care, you shouldn’t need much in return.
But what if that belief is part of the problem?
In this talk, Loretta Turner explores the cultural and personal narratives that keep purpose and profit at odds—why so many people doing meaningful work feel underpaid, overextended, and conflicted about wanting more.
We’ll unpack where these ideas come from, how they show up in our work and identity, and what might become possible if we reimagined the relationship between impact and sustainability.
What would it look like to build a life where your work supports others… and fully supports you?
