This March, Uptown Players continues its 24th season with a dazzling, laugh-out-loud comedy about friendship, fallout, and fabulousness. Pure Glitter by Douglas Lyons is a vibrant and heartfelt celebration of chosen family — packed with sharp wit, iconic diva references, and a dance-filled finale that truly lives up to its name.At Stan and Tony’s 10th anniversary surprise party, old friends and new flames collide in a whirlwind of revelations, shade, and spirited musical theater debates. But as the night unfolds, breakups, betrayals, and long-buried truths threaten to upend the celebration. In the glitter and chaos, this tight-knit group must confront love, loss, and the courage it takes to be honest with the people who know you best.
From the playwright behind the hit Chicken & Biscuits, Pure Glitter sparkles with humor and heart — reminding us that even when life feels shattered, friendship is the glue that holds us together.
Directed by Emerson Collins and starring Gerald Taylor II, Lee Walter, Kelly Groves, Jake Shanahan, Galileo Segura Rady, and Ian Mead Moore, this joyful new comedy promises laughter, recognition, and a few fabulous surprises along the way.
Performances run March 20 – March 29, 2026, at the iconic Kalita Humphreys Theatre, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd., Dallas, TX 75219.
