Punch Needle Pet Portraits

Learn how to create a punch needle portrait of your favorite pet (we won't tell the others) on pre-stretched fabric. Supply a photo of your pet at least 10 days prior to class and we'll simplify & transfer your image onto the fabric so all you have to do is fill in the spaces with your newly mastered punch needle skills. 

We will learn the basics of punch needle including ways to vary the height of your stitches to create separation from your pet and the background color of your piece. 

All supplies are provided. The best part: When you're finished with your piece, it's ready to hang right on the wall. No errands or further fussing needed. 

We'll use the following supplies:

• Oxford punch needles in various sizes. Each student will leave with one punch needle tool, but we’ll share them during class so we can have a variety of pile heights.
• Pre-stretched canvas
• Acrylic and/or wool yarn
• A photo of your pet
• Scissors

Guest Teacher Bio: Rosalie Gale is most well known for co-inventing Shower Art: waterproof art to hang in your shower. She and her husband, Doug, own Ugly Baby and have been making a living creating really dumb art pieces for longer than anyone really expected.
