Join local artist Jennifer Thomas for a special beginner’s workshop on Punch Needle Embroidery! Often described as a form of "painting with yarn," it is faster than traditional embroidery and is primarily used for making rugs, pillows, and wall hangings. We’ll be using a rapid fiber art technique that uses a hollow, pen-like needle to push yarn or thread through woven fabric, creating textured, plush loops on one side and flat stitches on the other side.
This project is made possible in part by funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support from the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.
