WHAT: Bikepacking Loop around San Antonio, utilizing as much dirt as possible but also avoiding SA's "sendiest" MTB trails. There will be a mix of single track, double track, no track, hobo trails, greenways and roadways to circumnavigate the city in a clockwise direction. Your best bet will be MTB on 2.2 tires or larger. Maps will be posted to the discussion section very soon. Maps may be inaccurate/outdated. WHERE: Starting at Eisenhower Park (19399 NW Military Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78257) and staying at the following campsites:
Thursday, San Antonio/Alamo KOA
Friday, Land Heritage Institute
Saturday, Government Canyon
As of right now, there is only room for eight more attendees under the reservations already made.
WHO: Anyone is welcome to join, even for only one or two nights if they can't make all three. But be ready. Right now we're doing anywhere from 35-60 miles each day so you need to be ready to ride that amount each day fully loaded.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a promoter, organizer, host, savant or leader - just a guy who from time to time sends out an open invite to people to go ride their bikes. ALL ROUTES ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND YOU ACCEPT 100 PERCENT OF THE RISK IF YOU DECIDE TO TRY THEM.
