Puerto Rican Plena Percussion Workshop & Plenazo w/Héctor Matos

Grab your panderos and get ready to dive into the vibrant world of Puerto Rican Plena!

Join us for an exciting in-person workshop where you'll learn plena history and pandero technique from our team of seasoned pleneros led by Héctor Matos (Houston), with Danny Rodríguez of Pleneros Ta'mo Akí (San Antonio), Enrique Quiñones Arocho 'Quique Lares' of Pleneros de la 100x35 (DFW), and Leo Vázquez of En Plena Fiesta (Killeen).

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned percussionist, this session is all about learning and social engagement. The 1.5 hour workshop culminates with a lively Plenazo jam session – let’s make some music together!

Please bring your panderos – a limited amount will be available for lending!
