PUDDLES - A Work In Progress
Immersive promenade performance at Shoreditch Town Hall
About this Event

About the show

PUDDLES is a new play by Tamara von Werthern, directed by Anna Marsland with music by Sam Hooper, about a love triangle shown from the perspective of two women in love with the same man. The audience will be split in two and take the side of one of the women as their two stories intertwine in the connected spaces of THE DITCH at Shoreditch Town Hall.

It is supported by Arts Council England.

Combining live music with promenade performance in an immersive experience the play explores how women's stories are perceived.

This work-in-progress performance will allow you to become part of the development journey of the piece. It is not a fully realised production, but rather the vital step towards a longer run. We would love you to be part of it and for your feedback to form the basis on which we'll build the final piece.

Supported by Shoreditch Town Hall, we’ll explore use of space with sound design by Luke Swaffield (National Theatre), original music by composer Sam Hooper (BAFTA) & immersive elements, highlighting the expectations on women’s careers, sexuality & bodily autonomy, working towards full show in 22/23. PUDDLES is produced by Emma Blackman Productions (www.emmablackmanproductions.com)

As part of this development process, we are also offering 4 community workshops aimed at mothers, focused on empowerment & skill sharing after lockdown.

These can be booked here: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/creative-writing-workshop-series-1-4-35149

We are very grateful to be supported by Arts Council England, Deborah Frances-White (The Guilty Feminist), Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (Mum, Emilia!) and Fizzy Sherbet.
