This instructor-led, virtual course will focus on best practices for ethical-decision making in the Peer Recovery Support Specialist role. This six-hour sessions will equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills they need to navicate complex ethical dilemmas in their professional role.
Completion of this course fulfills the ethical component of recertification requirements for PRSS.

- Understand the fundamental principles of ethical decision making in the peer support role
- Analyze ethical dilemmas and explore decision-making frameworks that take into account cultural contexts and personal professional values
- Explore real-world case studies to enhance practical applcation skills
- Discuss strategies to maintain professional boundaries that protect the wellbeing of peer workers and those they support
- Review current decision-making strategies and develop and implement new models that address culture, values and context

About Membership and Scholarships
To obtain a scholarship for the course which will cover all course fees and materials you may register to be a member of the Community Recovery Center. Membership costs nothing but will require participation in a 90-minute peer group each week for 12 weeks before applying for the PRSS Certification Training.
We call the weekly peer groups Member Circles. The weekly Member Circles are a time where members of the local recovery community get together to share resources, updates at the Community Recovery Center, and recovery topics. You will have a chance to participate in peer support, understand the role of the recovery coach, and meet other members, peer interns, and certified peer recovery coaches.
