About this Event
Our investigations in the Lasham catchment have shown that pollution that comes from non-mains sewerage systems is making its way into our groundwater and rivers which is where we get your drinking water from. Looking into sources of pollution of our drinking water is part of our environmental activity which helps to improve water quality at source.
We are inviting residents and businesses within the Lasham catchment to join us for a workshop where you can hear about what we have found so far and how we can support residents and businesses who have a non-mains sewerage system in managing those systems.
Why are we doing this work?
You may wonder why a drinking water-only company like us is interested in sewerage systems.
Looking into sources of pollution of our drinking water is part of our environmental activity which helps to improve water quality at source.
A healthy environment is so important for our health and well being. It provides the clean air, food and drinking water we rely on. We all have a role to play in protecting it. Thatβs why we focus on improving the environment where we source your drinking water. A healthier environment means the water we take is of better quality.
What does this mean for you?
If the water we take to supply drinking water is higher quality, it needs less treatment at our water treatment works. This helps us keep your bills low, reduce our carbon footprint, and ultimately protect our local environment for future generations.
