Protecting children from sexual abuse

The National Crime Agency states that 1-in-10 children go through sexual abuse before the age of 16 and that statistic is gathered from those who tell - many do not.
This is happening in person and online, to children of all ages and it's our responsibility as adults to ensure that we keep them safe. The way we can do this is by understanding this subject area more deeply.

- 7-year old convinced to do things otherwise Mum and Dad will be in trouble.
- 10-year old sending pictures on XBox Live in exchange for gaming tokens.
- 15-year old with a 20-year old feeling excited and grown up.

About me.
My name is Jeremy Indika and I've dedicated my life to opening a conversation on this horror that is happening to children.
This is because I was an 8-year old boy, being sexually abused by a 35-year old man and I never told anyone about it, or showed any signs - in fact, I would have been the last person you would have suspected.
I know, looking back at what happened, that we can prevent it from happening again.
This is an interactive, thought-provoking and empowering talk that will leave you feeling confident on a way forward.
The children and teenagers of today are relying on us for this. So let's educate ourselves, be prepared and prevent this from happening in the first place.
