Join us for a Prosperity Hens Workshop at Parthenon Books! During this workshop your host, Mary of Sugar Moon Artistry, will teach you some sewing basics, and you'll use a pattern to make your own set of 3 hanging prosperity hens! You'll have a variety of fabrics to choose from (may differ from photo) and you'll decorate with beads too! We will be using a vintage style bell like the photo that inspired Mary's hens below. Hens are 4" patterns before sewing. What are prosperity hens? These hens have a long history, specifically in India, and are symbols of abundance and prosperity. It is believed that when hung in a doorway or window, they bring prosperity, abundance and good luck. By having them in your space, you're inviting good things into your life. Bring on the positive vibes!
You're welcome (and encouraged!) to purchase beverages and treats from the café at Parthenon to fuel your creativity while you create! You can also browse the bookstore and go home with a new read too!
