Props As Teachers: Listening to the Body's Intelligence
In this experiential two-hour workshop, Jenny Clise shares her creative and intuitive approach to working with props as tools for awareness, adaptability, and self-study. Drawing from the principles in her book and many years of teaching, she will guide you in exploring how blocks, straps, blankets, walls, and other everyday objects can help you listen more closely to your body’s innate intelligence.
Rather than using props to fix or force shapes, you will discover how they can reveal hidden patterns of tension, create space and ease in challenging poses, and support both strength and mobility. With curiosity and play, you will learn to adapt postures to meet your unique needs, developing a practice that feels more sustainable, responsive, and empowering.
Through mindful movement, hands-on exploration, and thoughtful sequencing, this workshop invites you to slow down, experiment, and build a deeper relationship with sensation and choice. You will leave with practical tools, a fresh perspective, and a renewed sense of connection to your practice.
This workshop is open to students and teachers of all levels.
