About this Event
Join Leiya and Dr. Lauren Hartman for an in-person discussion on how weight stigma in healthcare is impacting children and adolescents. Learn tips and strategies for having these conversations with parents and patients in a way that is promoting health and not causing harm.
Many of us have struggled with our words when patients ask us about their BMI and weight. We know the high prevalence of eating disorders and we're navigating all of the promotion around weight loss medications. This talk can be useful for Pediatricians, Family medicine doctors, NPs, PAs, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, school counselors who are on the receiving end of questions about weight/BMI and want to have these conversations thoughtfully.
Parking is accessible on the street or at the attached pay-to-park garage.
