Screenprinting Workshop | Print & Preserve
September 9, 2025–April 11, 2026
The Grey Art Museum’s Student Friends Committee is pleased to present this year’s student spring event, "Print & Preserve." Inspired by artist Robert Rauschenberg’s belief that “art can encourage individual conscience,” this hands-on, beginner-friendly screenprinting workshop invites all NYU students to engage with ideas of sustainability, activism, and creative reuse. Drawing from one of the Grey’s current exhibitions, Handle With Care—which features a selection of Rauschenberg’s multimedia screen prints—the event highlights printmaking as an accessible medium for thoughtful reflection and collective action.
Participants are encouraged to bring small garments or fabric pieces to transform through screen printing, or to use the provided materials to create unique greeting cards. Through experimental techniques in layering, texture, and found materials, attendees will explore how print can serve as both an artistic expression and environmental awareness.
Refreshments will be served.
Participants must have an NYU ID to access this event.
