The Talk: An exploration of the shapeshifting of adolescent distress and querying an over-diagnosis of ASD: looking at how we perceive, how we understand and the liable stretching of the spectrum and the likely looping effect of this.
Ideas inspired by Ian Hacking and Susanne O'Sullivan and others will be presented in addition to young person Case material with Functional Neurological Difficulties and Neurodiversity.
Speaker: Marica Rytovaara is a Training Analyst for the SAP, and the Tavistock and IPCAPA Doctoral Child and Adolescent Trainings. She has regularly taught Psychiatrists and Medical Students and she continues to supervise and consult in the NHS where she worked for many years as a Consultant in Adolescent Psychotherapy in an adolescent inpatient unit. She also works in private practice in North London.
