Poetry & Humor: The Art of the Turn, led by Xochi Quetzali Cartland
How does the set-up of a poem mirror the set-up of a joke? How can we as poets look to comedians to learn about how to write a line that punches, foils, and makes strange our work?
This workshop takes place during April, which is both International Humor Month and National Poetry Month. Open to writers of all levels of experience and backgrounds.
Xochi Quetzali Cartland is a queer Chicana poet and seamstress who was the 2025 Latinx in Publishing poetry mentee, and has been supported with fellowships from National Arts Strategies and Brooklyn Poets.
