Love good food and hate waste? Join us for a fun, hands-on preserving workshop and discover the joy of turning fresh, seasonal produce into flavour-packed chutneys, relishes, and pickles!Led by our preserves master, Rob Porter (aka father of Adam at The Pickle Project) you’ll learn the simple techniques behind making shelf-stable preserves - perfect for capturing the taste of late summer and autumn to enjoy year-round.
It's a great skill to have in your repertoire as you can source produce when it's at its ripest and cheapest and make it last in shelf-stable way meaning no refrigeration required until they are opened.
Get hands-on with chopping, spicing, simmering, and bottling, and take home your own tasty creations to share (or keep all to yourself!)
You'll pick up practical kitchen skills and food-saving tips, in a relaxed, social session surrounded by like-minded food lovers.
When: Sunday 12 April, 10am to 1pm
Where: HUB at Warrnambool Community Garden, corner of Grieve and Derby Street
What to bring: Apron or wear old clothes, and a sense of taste adventure!
