After their exhilarating, world renowned touring show By A Thread, One Fell Swoop Circus are coming to Warrnambool for the first time with their new, breathtaking work, In Common.Crackling with tension and wonder, using what seems an 'impossible' structure, where floating beams hold together by tension alone, six daring acrobats balance, fly and catch one another in heart-stopping feats of strength and trust, all performed against the backdrop of the quarry's sandstone cliffs.
With intricate choreography and virtuosic skill, the ensemble transforms physical forces into human stories: the precarious joy of throwing yourself into someone’s arms; the strength of bearing another’s weight; the shared balance that keeps the whole from toppling.
Every lift, every leap, every hand extended reminds us of the invisible safety nets we build in our own lives – the care, trust and responsibility that hold communities together.
More than spectacle, In Common is a vivid reminder of the invisible safety nets we weave together as communities and what we can achieve when we work together in common – playful, powerful and moving.
Kids Circus Workshop 🎪
Earlier in the day, there's a circus workshop with acrobats from One Fell Swoop. Explore the simple physics that makes acrobalance (partner and group balancing) possible. Participants will construct mini versions of the ‘tensegrity’ structures used in In Common, followed by an acrobalance lesson where we’ll learn balances and pyramids in groups. The workshop highlights themes of balance, forces, and working together that are central to the show.
