About this Event
The Student Conservation Association (SCA) invites you to beautify MLK Jr. National Historical Park in partnership with Social Innovation Summit, Cox Enterprises, and National Park Service. This engagement is a chance to step into Dr. King's legacy through action, caring for the World Peace Rose Garden as well as other locations throughout the park.
WHAT: The SCA is hosting a community planting event at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park in Atlanta. Join us to preserve the World Peace Rose Garden and learn about this national treasure. Volunteers will plant shade plants, W**d, and mulch the garden.
WHO: This event is open to the public.
WHEN: 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. EST on Monday, June 1, 2026
- 11:30 a.m. - Check-In table opens.
- 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Planting at the Rose Garden.
- 1:00 p.m. - Park tours with NPS guide begins. (optional)

BRING WITH YOU:
- Wear long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Bring sunscreen and sunglasses to prepare for the warm weather.
- Please also bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.
