About this Event
The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and young adults. Our program participants protect and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks and community green spaces across the country. After working with the SCA, program participants emerge with increased environmental awareness, social responsibility and leadership skills.
WHAT: The Student Conservation Association is hosting a community planting event at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park in Atlanta. Join us to preserve the World Peace Rose Garden and learn about this national treasure. Volunteers will plant shade plants, W**d, and mulch the garden.
WHO: This event is open to the public.
WHEN: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. EST on Monday, June 1, 2026
- 1:30 p.m. - Check-In table opens.
- 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. - Planting at the Rose Garden.
- 3:30 p.m. - Park tour begins. (optional)

BRING WITH YOU:
- Wear long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Bring sunscreen and sunglasses to prepare for the warm weather.
- Please also bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.
