Preparing to Paint Outside: Plein Air Painting - Part 1

Thursdays 10am-12pm: April 30, May 7, May 14 -$50
This studio-based class prepares artists for successful plein air painting by covering essential concepts before heading outdoors. Students will explore composition and design principles, practice sketching thumbnail studies, and learn color theory and color mixing using a limited palette. Additional topics include brushwork, surface preparation, and tools that help painters work efficiently in outdoor settings. Students may work in their preferred medium. This class is designed to help artists make the most of their time painting in the field. All materials are included.
