Praashekh Borkar (Praaz) is a renowned Indian classical musician originally trained in the Hindustani instrument the Sarod. Performing now for over 27 years, he is also known globally for his own invention – the “Esarod”, a combination of the electric guitar and the sarod. For this event, Praashekh will also be performing with a newly developed instrument named “Praazarod.”Taking the form of an exciting collective with Praashekh at its core, Praaz forges a unique, globally-minded musical style unbound to any one genre or culture. Performing original compositions by the bandleader, the multi-talented members of Praaz bring a wealth of experience and musical diversity to the stage: Praashekh on Esarod and Praazarod, Tao on Drums, Isuru on Tabla and percussion and Flavio on keys.
