About this Event
Senior PPM/Sentinal International Intructors Brent Earlewine, Nick Carrington and Garrett Haines will present a Self Defense Seminar utilizing the practical and pragmatic concepts of the PPM Level 1 curriculum.
During this session, we will focus specifically on carrying self defense weapons such as tactical flashlights, edged items and concealed carry firearms and the concepts around a weapons"system", and how to deploy under stress as well as moving between weapons, why and how. This is not a beginners class, rather the assumption is that you already have some rudimentary understanding (and most likely already carry something for self defense in your daily life, AND have some level of knowledge of how to use it)
We have spent DECADES studying real world violence, human physiology and martial art combatives. We bring this to you in a format that is instructional, concise and relevant to keeping you safe! This is not a session you want to miss.
If you ever wanted to learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones, this is it. All material is presented in a supportive safe environment designed to give you the mental and physical tools you need in today's society.
Module "0" - We will explore the different types of violence, where and why it occurs, who perpetrates it and how to avoid it in the first place. This is a CRITICAL baseline knowledge set that most self defense courses skip entirely. We don't, because you need to know it.
We will spend time discussing what to choose and why for self defense weapons, where and how to carry them, ways to deploy under pressure and how to move from primary, to secondary to tertiary weapon choices while moving. We will re-enforce the idea of a weapons SYSTEM instead of only relying on one item of choice for self defense applications. We will study defensive aspects of tactical flashlights, knives and concealed carry firearms and practical applicaitons of all three, as well as moving between them.
All of the material is extremely practical and presented in simple, no-nonsense terms and ways we can all understand. The way the material is presented is in a safe environment and will give you practical tools that you can apply immediately. No complex movements, no fancy terms and no BS.
Brent, Nick and Garrett will be assisted by several assistant instructors to ensure that you get the maximum amount of benefit out of your time at this event.
The event will be held at the Pittsburgh Bujinkan Dojo at 6901 Lynn Way, Suite 205, Pittsburgh, PA 15208. Map and directions included.
This will be a VERY full day of information, with the focus on actual drilling of the concepts presented. You will sweat, you will go hands on in a safe controlled environment, and you will walk away with new understandings of how real world violence happens and what you can do about it.
