Throw your own Teapot CourseSaturday 20th and 27th June 9.30-12.15pm
In this focused 2-day workshop you’ll design and make a wheel-thrown teapot from start to finish. Teapots are rewarding and technically demanding, combining several thrown pieces that must fit and work together.
Day 1: Throw the body, lid, spout and handle. Learn proportion, balance and practical design so parts form a cohesive pot. Suzanne will cover common mistakes and how to avoid them.
Day 2: When pieces are leather-hard, trim and assemble. You’ll attach and position spout and handle, refine the lid fit and adjust the spout for clean pouring without drips.
By the end you’ll have a finished, assembled teapot and practical skills for future functional work.
Duration: 2 days Includes: Earthenware clay, firings, Glazes and slips provided, but if you want a certain look to your teapot you would need to source from Bath Potters. Teapots will be fired to 1073 degrees.
