E te Haahi, we have the privilege of hosting Daniel Kikawa and his team from Hawaii at the end of the month:Thur 26th Feb - Sun 1st March @ Te Awhina marae.
Here is the schedule:
Thur 26th Feb:
5:30pm - Pōwhiri at Te Awhina marae. I will be asking any other manuhiri/church etc... to bring along a koha of $20+.
Please dress in tidy/casual.
6pm - Kai o te Pō (Dinner)
7pm - Whakamoemiti (prayers and song)
Mihimihi - Introductions
Kōrero on te whare tupuna Tūrangāpeke (talk on the ancestral house - Tūrangāpeke) by Ropata Stephens.
Fri 27th:
6pm: Kai o te Pō (Dinner)
7pm: Whakamoemiti (Prayers and waiata)
10pm: Wa moe - lights out.
Sat 28th:
6pm: Kai o te Pō (Dinner). Potluck. A chance for church and community to come and eat together.
7pm: Whakamoemiti (Prayers and waiata)
Talk on "True God of Hawaii - A Case for Io" -
10pm: Wa moe - lights out.
Sun 1st March:
9:00am - Poropoaki (farewell)
10am - Visit to Motueka Baptist Church
Note, if you are keen to muck in, please contact me directly.
7pm at night is a good opportunity to come and join in for whakamoemiti and talks also.
Potluck dinner on Sat night, 6pm followed by a talk by Daniel on his book, "The True God of Hawaii - A Case for Io."
He will have books for sale also. Please bring a donation to contribute to their trip.
