About the Workshop
This workshop will explore the art of lego stop-motion and what it entails. Ever since 2015 and the LEGO Movie, lego animations otherwise known as brickfilms have seen a huge increase in popularity. This is because everyone everywhere with lego and a camera can make lego animations.
With the provided lego, this workshop will explore different styles and fundamentals through lego animation such as walk cycles, time lapse builds, car chases, cartoon action and more. Anything is possible in a world of lego so exploring all forms of animation is a must when working with a medium that can literally change into whatever your mind can think of. Learn to bring a small lego minifigure and their surroundings to life with the limit of only your imagination.
About the Instructor
Akash Jones is a stop-motion animator who specializes in LEGO animation. He enjoys communicating stories and emotions through inanimate objects and finding creative ways to give restrictive mediums like LEGO as much life as he can. His recent works include animated scenes for Amazon Prime’s hit show “The Boys” and silicone storytelling for Air Canada's newest Christmas ad. Akash currently animates for his YouTube channel which has amassed over 190 thousand subscribers and 125 million views. Akash uses stop-motion to tell his own stories as well replicate the magic of movie franchises like star wars and marvel which has drawn a certain audience to follow his work. He hopes to continue to help others bring their stories to life and make as many people smile as he can by pushing the boundaries of animation.

- A Phone or Tablet to download Stop Motion Studio (FREE - download here: Apple/Android)
- Optional: The instructor will be providing some LEGO to work with, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
