Leicester College’s longest and bloodiest portmanteau piece yet, set to release July 1st with a screening at Sue Townsend.
Leicester College’s TV and Film Media students are ready to unleash their boldest project yet, officially announcing the release of their upcoming horror anthology, REDACTED.
Clocking in at a gripping one hour, this dark-comedy horror experience throws audiences headfirst into chaos, following Detective Leslie Merose (Andy Longly-Brown) as he investigates six chilling unsolved cases completely oblivious to the terrifying presence stalking him within his own office. As the mysteries spiral from ritualistic cults to alien parasites to sinister folklore creatures, one thing becomes clear: the real horror is not just in the files… it is already inside the room.
Packed with an explosive mix of genres, tones, and blood-soaked horror, REDACTED promises an unrelenting ride filled with tension, creativity, and ruthless storytelling. Each segment brings its own distinct voice and style, shifting from unsettling psychological dread to fast-paced chaos and darkly comedic absurdity, ensuring audiences are never given a moment to settle. The anthology format allows the filmmakers to experiment boldly, pushing boundaries and expectations with every new case file opened. The film showcases a passionate ensemble cast, featuring both the production team and a range of external collaborators, all coming together to bring this ambitious portmanteau project to life. This collaborative spirit sits at the heart of REDACTED, highlighting the creativity, versatility, and raw talent emerging from Leicester’s next generation of filmmakers.
Produced and directed by Eve Arnett-O’Brian and Hannah Broadley-Becker, with additional segments from Junaid Zaindeed, Kyra Cousins, Cameron Wall, Murphy McNeil, Olivia Trye, and Gregory Walter, the film has been in active production since November 2025 building momentum toward a highly anticipated debut. From early concept development through to filming and post-production, the project has evolved into a bold showcase of independent filmmaking at its most inventive.
REDACTED premieres this summer at the Sue Townsend Theatre in Leicester on 1st July.
