In conjunction with the Whatcom County Historical Society free Sunday tours, I am hosting a June pop up sketch event at the Roeder Home.Date: Sunday June 14
Time: 11 am - 1 pm
Bring: If you have one, a stool or chair may be helpful depending on where you would like to sketch.
**Please note:
This will be a slightly different format than usual. The historical society may be able to give us a very brief tour of the building at 11 am. If there is indoor sketching you want to do, it can be accommodated until around 12:30 when they start needing to be ready for regular tours. By 12:30 we need to be migrating outside. The historical society can provide a canopy for outside if the weather does not cooperate.**
We will do our usual throw down at 12:45 pm in the outdoor garden area.

About:
Victor A. Roeder House (2600 Sunset Drive)
The son of Bellingham’s founder Captain Henry Roeder, Victor Roeder became one of Bellingham’s best-known citizens and businessmen; from 1896 to 1900 he served as Whatcom County treasurer. After his father’s death in 1902 Victor Roeder administered the family business and property, and in 1904 he was one of the founders of the Bellingham National Bank.
Victor Roeder purchased ten lots in the then undeveloped Broadway Park area of northern Whatcom. He later sold three and used the remaining seven to build his home, one of the finest in Whatcom County and on both the Local and National Historic Registry. Beginning in 1903, Roeder meticulously supervised the work over the home’s five-year construction (1903-1908).
