The Local Government Election is upon us! As is tradition, The Fremantle Network present a special Politics in the Pub for you the voter and the candidates. We have all 11 eligible candidates attending. To ensure everyone has a chance to speak more than soundbites, we’re changing our approach. Take note!
What: Politics in the Pub Local Election Special
When: 7pm – 9pm, Tuesday, September 30
Where: H&C Urban Winery, 181 High Street, Fremantle. This beautiful venue has higher capacity and more room to get comfortable.
How: Once the candidates have introduced themselves, we will split the event into three spaces: one for North Ward, one for Coastal Ward, and one for East Ward. This will enable attendees to sit with the candidate most relevant to them and enable everyone to have more time to speak. Each section will have a moderator to help ensure people get a fair go on the mic. *
We will then get back together for closing comments from the candidates, and to hear any especially pertinent and broadly relevant points raised in the prior discussion. Easy!
This is a free event. No registration needed. Arrive early. Stay as long as you want.
*As Cr. Fedele Camarda was uncontested this year, there will be no section for Central Ward – Cr. Camarda will still be attending the night and is still available for questions.
