Synopsis
Martín, a filmmaker living in Germany, returns to the Peruvian Amazon to reconnect with his family during his father’s political campaign for regional office. Behind the camera, what begins as the documentation of a modest and chaotic campaign gradually becomes a deeply personal portrait of a middle-class Peruvian family divided by political beliefs, distance and unspoken emotions.
Through an intimate and honest lens, Políticas familiares reflects on the tensions between affection and disagreement, as Martín confronts the family he left behind and the country that continues to accompany him as a migrant.
Directed by Martín Rebaza Ponce de León, Políticas familiares is an 88-minute Peruvian documentary that won the Special Jury Prize in the Peruvian Competition at the 29th Lima Film Festival and the Audience Award in the Documentary Feature category at the 12th Trujillo Film Festival.
