About this Event
A relaxed, thoughtful space where we gather to read poems aloud, share interpretations, and learn from one another. Each month focuses on a poet, theme, or style.
It could be the classsics, modern poetry or a surprise. In any way, it'll be fun.
There’s no pressure to know anything beforehand; you’re invited to read, listen, or simply soak in the language. Together, we look at what makes a poem work, how it moves us, and the techniques that give it power. It’s a warm way to end the week, especially for beginners looking to deepen their understanding of poetry without any pretence.
The foundational principals of City of Poets are:
• all of womb born are poets
• the story of each of us is uniquely valuable
• poetry has a capacity to unite the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual self — PIES
This event runs as part of City of Poets Takeover of Knightswood Pavillion as they make February the COOLEST month.

About February is the COOLEST month
Often called the cruelest month, February, with its dark nights, cold mornings, and that slow drag toward Spring. (unlike poet T S ELIOT who famously declared it to be April…)
For four weekends, the Pavilion in Knightswood Park becomes a hub for storytelling, sharing, learning, laughing, swapping, reading, crafting, and meeting new people who love words just as much as you do.
Whether you’ve been writing for years, just starting out, or simply enjoy being surrounded by creative energy, you’re welcome here.
