Ever been told that poems shouldn't rhyme? This workshop will discuss what kind of rhyming works and what doesn't in modern poetry.
About this Event

A lot of strong words can surface when someone mentions rhyming poems.

Some people say rhyme is a relic of the past, while others love rhyming! Wherever you stand, this poetry workshop is for you.

In this workshop, we'll look at examples of contemporary poetry that use rhyme in interesting ways. We won't just think about end rhymes, but also other kinds, such as internal rhyme. We'll even talk about rhyme-like techniques, such as assonance.

Come with your thinking hat for discussion and your writing hat for trying out some of the techniques that great poets from Margaret Atwood to Paul Muldoon have employed in their work.

See you there!

This workshop is meant to be interactive and comfortable. Everyone is welcome.
