Poems of Proximity is an intimate classical concert exploring emotional closeness and distance,—what it means to yearn, to remember, and to exist between presence and absence, as well as physical proximity. The program centers on the poetic tension of “near and far,” expressed through refined classical art song and select Baroque repertoire, with a strong emphasis on text, nuance, and musical clarity.
Five female classical singers—Aziza Poggi, Sara Salas, Beth Gazella, Stacie House, and Chelsea Molin—will each present three solo selections, alongside select duet performances. Pianist Scott Taylor will accompany the singers.
This concert is designed as a close, immersive listening experience. Donations are gratefully accepted and directly support the production costs of this unique artistic offering, and any additional earnings will be distributed evenly to the singers.
