Why the Most Capable Project Managers Stay Invisible, And What Changes That in the AI Era
About this Event

PMI Melbourne Chapter brings you a joint AGM & Monthly Chapter Event.

In this specific monthly Chapter event we will spend the first 20 minutes for our Annual General Meeting before diving into our Panel Speaker session, featuring a Career Coach, Pan Perera, who will discuss the factors that keep project professionals stay relevant in an AI Driven world.

In a world where AI is rapidly absorbing execution, the professionals who thrive won't be those who deliver the most, they'll be those who are seen, trusted, and remembered. Yet highly capable project managers find themselves overlooked because of how their value is perceived, communicated, and experienced by others.

This session explores the often-overlooked internal and external factors that shape professional visibility. Drawing from real-world experience and coaching insights, Pan introduces a practical and reflective approach to help professionals question inherited assumptions, position their value more effectively, and show up with greater clarity and presence in high-stakes environments.

Blending career strategy with self-leadership, this talk will challenge conventional thinking around performance and growth, offering a fresh perspective on how project professionals can remain relevant, influential, and aligned in an AI-driven world.

Speaker: Pan Perera - Career & Founder Coach
Event Photos

Pan Perera is a coach and speaker who works at the intersection of career strategy, leadership, and human potential.

After moving to Australia in 2015, Pan experienced over 500 job rejections before breaking into the corporate world, where he went on to lead teams and contribute to large-scale transformation initiatives. His lived experience of navigating invisibility and reinvention now shapes his work with professionals across industries.

Since founding Elevar, Pan has guided over 250+ professionals through career transformation, with outcomes across organisations including Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Nestlé, NAB, and Origin Energy. His work has been featured on SBS National Radio and LinkedIn News Australia.

Through five years of coaching work, he observed that strategy alone rarely changes careers; the most significant shifts happen when professionals begin questioning the identities and fear-based patterns that were formed long before their careers began. This insight led to the launch of Unlayered, his podcast exploring self-awareness, conditioning, and conscious leadership.
