About this Event
Plotting on the Body is a creative writing and collage workshop in Edinburgh for queer, trans , intersex and non binary people of colour, led by writer and facilitator JJ Fadaka.
Workshop description
This is an experimental writing workshop using creative writing and collaging with maps to embody and celebrate the connection between our bodies and the natural world.
In a small group, we will manipulate maps with collages and writing samples, to reflect on the political structures that seek to control the way we can physically and emotionally interact with the world.
We will chart a new course on our maps with writing, group discussion and art-making to express how we would like to move through the world and the newfoundlands we are determined to explore.
In group exercises, we will imagine and share the resources we need to take us there and what a new world might look like with collaboration, solidarity and mutual understanding.
This is an embodied writing workshop with gentle and introspective writing prompts and optional, reflective political group discussion.
