What better place to enjoy plein air watercolor painting than Bedrock Gardens! Artist Doris Rice will give a demonstration on plein air equipment and procedure, and then invite you to work alongside her with personalized instruction. All levels of experience are welcome.
Bring basic supplies: watercolor paints/palette, brushes (#10 round and 1” flat), paper towels, masking tape, water dish, and definitely a sketch pad or notebook for preliminary work and notes, 1 or 2 pieces of 140-pound cold-press watercolor paper (9x12 or 11x14 est sizes) with a backing board for your painting. An easel is optional if you like painting vertically and/or a folding stool. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch from home.
About the Teacher
Doris Rice is an acclaimed international watercolor painter and teacher who lives on the Seacoast of New Hampshire and paints on location throughout North America and Europe. Her students range from total beginners to accomplished painters who exhibit and sell their work. They share a love of nature, a passion for color, and an appreciation of Doris’ warm, friendly, encouraging and relaxed teaching style. Her paintings have been sold through the Seacoast Art Association in Exeter, the Kennedy Gallery in Portsmouth, Art & Frames Gallery in Coronado, California, private showings at her studio space and online galleries. Tickets
Tickets are $75 for members (with member discount code) and $90 for non-members which includes admission to the gardens. Recommended for adults and older teens. Class size limited to 12.
Cancellation Policy: If you are unable to attend, please let us know 48 hours in advance of the class start time in order to receive a refund. Note that Eventbrite Fees are non-refundable.
Weather Related Cancellations: We will assess the weather the morning of the workshop and send a notification to all attendees if extreme or severe weather is forecast.
