Plays Out Loud! was created because something worthy happens when actors work through material at the "rough" beginnings of a project... that first reading.
To the audience member who's a lover of plays and stories, it's a way to listen to actors exploring material that takes you beyond reading by yourself, and it promotes using your imagination.
For the actors, it's about the process, one that promotes risks and discoveries that will be shared with everyone supporting in the room; whether its around a table, at music stands, or script-in-hand. Sometimes a rough draft leaves you with surprising organic moments that might only happen in the early creative process.
